Peter Fenton's screenwriting debut came in the award-winning Dadley Productions comedy-fantasy/proof-of-concept short film Filling In, co-written with director Bradley Hawkins and starring Jared Odrick and Karl Holtz. A gentle giant of man down on his luck, considers a risky and covert career path. To help him learn the ropes, a grizzled vet in the field takes him under his wing. Expectations of the nature of this film are hilariously subverted in a plot twist revealing an alternative universe where seemingly mythological creatures do exist and tackle mundane domestic responsibilities as humans do. In addition, Filling In reveals the repurposing of baby teeth due to the rare protein volastabilase found only within.
Filling In was developed to serve as proof of concept for the pilot of a 30-minute comedy series for streaming sites. The comedy short has won film festival awards throughout the world, including for Best Television Series Pilot at the following festivals: Austin Indie Fest, California Film Awards, the Honolulu Film Awards, and the Oniros Film Awards in Italy. Since its debut, Peter Fenton has continued collaboration with Bradley Hawkins to develop storylines for 12 additional episodes of Filling In (the series) to round out a full first season. Dadley Productions seeks to sell the intellectual property to another production company to take over the world of Filling In.
